mixd shows you what the DJs you love are actually playing. Browsing the catalog needs no account and no sign-in. This page explains the small amount of data mixd handles, and the third parties involved when you play or connect Spotify.

Browsing

Tracks, mixes, artists, labels, and genres are public. You can browse all of them without an account. mixd does not require a login to look around.

Playback (YouTube and SoundCloud)

DJ mixes play through embedded YouTube and SoundCloud players. When you press play, your browser loads that player directly from YouTube or SoundCloud, so those services receive your request and may set their own cookies and log your IP address under their privacy policies, not ours. If you never press play, no embed loads.

Connecting Spotify (optional)

You can connect a Spotify account to play full tracks inside mixd and to save tracks to your Spotify library. Connecting uses Spotify’s standard OAuth screen, where you approve the access. The permissions mixd requests are:

• Play tracks in the app: streaming and playback control, so the in-app player can start and control playback on your Spotify.
• Save to your library: when you tap the heart, mixd adds the track to your Spotify Liked Songs.
• Read your taste: your library, top artists, and follows, used to tailor what mixd surfaces to you.
• Your account basics: your Spotify email and account type, which Spotify returns when you connect.

Your Spotify access token is stored on our servers, tied to your account, so playback keeps working across sessions. You can disconnect at any time, which revokes mixd’s access. mixd cannot change your password or post anything to your profile.

Accounts and your collection

Your collection (the tracks and mixes you save) is kept in your browser first. If you sign in, it syncs to your account so it follows you across devices. Sign-in is handled by Supabase, our authentication and database provider. mixd may also record basic listening activity, like which sets and tracks you play, to power your collection and recommendations.

Analytics

mixd uses Plausible for privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics. It counts page views and basic usage in aggregate. It does not set cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not build a personal profile.

What mixd does not do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not run third-party advertising or ad tracking.
• We do not read your messages, email, or contacts.

Storage and security

Account data is stored in a Postgres database hosted by Supabase on AWS infrastructure in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Your choices

• Disconnect Spotify at any time to revoke access.
• Request a full deletion of your account and its data by emailing us. We process deletion requests within 30 days.

Changes

We may update this policy as mixd evolves. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
